About Hashtag Generation

Hashtag Generation is a Non-Profit Organization that promotes civic consciousness and advocates for an inclusive society. Hashtag Generation uses social and new media tools to raise awareness and spark dialogue about critical social issues. Their work has included advocating for youth decision-making participation, strengthening women's civic and political engagement, advocating for the rights of ethnic, religious, and sexual minorities, and raising awareness about the importance of cyber security.

Objective
  • Automate Data Entry: Reduce manual entry time by 70%, minimizing human error and increasing efficiency.
  • Enhance Reporting: Implement automated PDF reporting, cutting report preparation time by 80%.
  • Facilitate Quick Responses: Enable real-time monitoring and incident reporting, reducing response time to flagged posts by 60%
Solution

We developed a software platform for Hashtag Generation that allowed them to enter specific statuses, tweets, or YouTube videos and segregate them into the types that they preferred. It reduced the amount of time that employees took to manually organize them into charts and graphs and derive patterns from them. Users can log into the system seamlessly, enter an incident, and select from the already available categories showing which ways the information needs to be classified.

The information entered into the system will immediately be sorted into the date it was entered, while graphs will also show the disaggregation by target group, category, source, medium and gender. All this information is helpful for Hashtag Generation to monitor and censor their reports, which they directly use for their publications. The system also allows the user to identify which areas of Sri Lanka have the most incidents reported.
